Sarah Strunk – Director
Oversees all aspects of program development and operations, including grant management and evaluation, partnership development, new program development and sustainability planning.
Mary Beth Powell - Deputy Director
Oversees all aspects of Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities operations and provides support for communications and technical assistance activities.
Richard Bell - Project Officer
Provides guidance, resource referral and other technical assistance for Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities grantees. Rich serves as Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities’ lead resource and point of contact for: Planning, Land Use, Transportation, Smart Growth, Community Development, Affordable Housing, Community Gardening, Crime Prevention and Safe Routes to School.
Philip Bors - Project Officer
Provides technical assistance, support, and monitoring for Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities grantees. Identifies resources and materials related to the specific aspects/populations: older adults, youth, and people with disabilities. Serves as lead point of contact for Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities for evaluation, physical activity and related public health issues.
Mark Dessauer - Communications Director
Responsible for all communication related activities including the website, extranet, publications and presentations, newsletter, graphic design, media messages, social marketing, media relations and communication training and support for the office and community partnerships.
Fay Gibson - Project Officer
Provides technical assistance, consultation and program support to a portfolio of grantees and multi-disciplinary community partnerships designed to promote active living and healthy eating through policy and environmental interventions.
Joanne Lee - Project Officer
Manages and provides direct technical assistance and support to the Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities community partnerships. Joanne offers experience to the multidisciplinary Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities team in the areas of nutrition, public health, community-level programming, children’s and women’s health, at-risk populations, chronic disease prevention and related research.
Risa Wilkerson - Project Officer
Provides coaching, technical assistance and grant oversight to multidisciplinary community partnerships designed to promote active living and healthy eating through policy and environmental interventions. Works as part of our project team on program development, facilitation of learning networks, development of tools and resources and field-building activities (presentations in national state or regional contexts, consultations to other funders and organizations, dissemination of lessons learned).
Casey Allred - Project Coordinator
Provides overall staff support to the entire National Program Office, including national project management to the 70 grantee communities; oversees events planning; handles routine correspondence and manages effective communications with internal and external constituents.
Tim Schwantes - Project Manager
Assists in the dissemination of materials over the website and maintaining up to date information for organizations to learn more about best practices and share their stories.
Menaka Mohan - Graduate Assistant
Developing community resources for Healthy Kids Healthy Communities.
